Engaging and Investing in
The Elderly
We actively support, advocate, and engage the elderly by creating community support groups and activities, providing support with resources and social connection.
Providing them with Access to Critical Resources
Through MCOHA, the senior citizens of Morris County have direct access to the critical resources they need to meet their basic needs. Our expert team works tirelessly every day to help them stay warm, which is especially essential during the wintertime. They receive assistance with paying their energy and heating bills and with weatherizing their homes. They also have access to free or low-cost legal immigration services to achieve their immigration goals, which allows them to receive further benefits.
Advocating for Their Rights
We actively assist senior citizens every day to help them get the help they need. They can find with us help to fill out forms and applications, translate essential documents and information, and even with phone calls to doctors and other social services agencies. Furthermore, we provide free eye and basic health screening twice a month, and free transportation services to and from medical appointments, government agencies, and other important appointments.
Engaging and Investing Through Connection
We maintain two year-round bilingual senior citizens groups called "Corazones Contentos" (Joyful Hearts), one in the Town of Dover and one in the City of Morristown. These groups meet once a week to engage and connect senior citizens. Through these groups, the senior citizens have access to food assistance once a month, trips to farmers' markets and other amenities, and seasonal and holiday gatherings and gifts.
